Two truths and a lie
- Ben briefly served as mayor of a small town
- Ben once found a severed finger near a volcano
- Ben was an extra in The Waterboy and an episode of Mindhunter
The Running Club Abraham Spencer “Spence” Allen III is a heavy-drinking, misanthropic Deputy Attorney General, homicide division, for Salt Lake County, Utah, who becomes the de facto leader of the new Pepper Pond Running Club after a schism in the Salt Lake Road Runners caused by two simultaneous but unrelated kerfuffles during a Wednesday night run. Molly O’Brien is a tart-tongued Vice President of Public Relations for a ski and snowboard manufacturer who plays by her own fast-and-loose rules to the apprehension of men in positions of power.
After a sensationalized arrest and trial, Nielsen Skarsgard, a disgraced Mormon convert, is acquitted of human trafficking, a business he started as a missionary to Sao Paolo but grew into a feeder of young women to the notorious Los Angeles adult film industry. The club, upon learning of the acquittal while celebrating after the Boston Marathon, hatches a vigilante plan to kill Skarsgard to avenge the suicide death of the distraught star witness, a University of Utah college runner. Keeping the plan secret proves as hard as seven amateurs planning a murder. |
The Running Club will be published by Moonshine Cove on June 7, 2024, and available on Amazon and at fine independent bookstores near you.
